I haven’t taken many self portraits, here’s one I took the other day while testing a light setup:

Here is a recent snap I took of Jamie, he is a great photographer and a very cool guy (despite being an Arsenal fan), and recently photographed me for a project he was working on. Go check out his website, he’s got some really nice work, and if you can guess which one I am from his ‘London’ series you get a gold star:

Following on from the previous post, we also came across this cool guy down on the seafront. He was very friendly and happy to have his picture taken, though it was a bit difficult to get a conversation going as that speaker he is holding was blasting out some crazy ultra-distorted industrial electro that pretty much sounded like deafening white noise. He was a real character, marching back and forth along the seafront blasting his music to the bewildered public:

A few weeks ago I found myself down in Brighton again, this time with the very talented Mr Nathan Pask. We’d driven down in the afternoon to check out the opening of the Vanity Project exhibition by Kevin Mason (which was pretty cool by the way), and helped along by Nathan’s super fast new car, we got there a little early, so had a few hours to kill. Like all city kids we went straight down to the sea side to enjoy the novelty of the sea. We sat there for an hour talking about life, the universe and everything starring out at sea and whilst doing so I thought I’d try to shoot off a few frames of the people walking by. Part of me wished I had a tripod with me, so that the framing on each shot would have been identical, but oh well. Anyway, here are a few of the frames I shot during that hour sat by the sea:

I got the large format camera out again yesterday… just playing around with it. Viewing the world through the ground glass plate is always a pleasure so I thought i’d snap a quick portrait through it. The ground glass plate creates a beautiful natural vignette where the centre of the part your viewing is light and the rest falls of into darkness. Here is the result:

I know that shooting through ground glass plates is hardly original, but nonetheless I quite liked the way it turned out.
I’m hopefully going to be shooting on the large format camera (with actual film, not just as a prop) soon, so keep your eyes peeled…

A little while ago, I took some headshots for an actress friend of mine (a few of which i’ll probably post up here in the not too distant future) and in the process I shot a few outtakes on the bronica. The results aren’t particularly sharp or well focused etc, but nonetheless i like them…
