I’ve bought myself a new toy… an old Canonet QL17. My first experience with this camera was when my mate Nathan picked one up at a car boot sale. Once i’d seen his camera and tried it out a bit i instantly became insanely jelous. It’s a perfect, inexpensive little rangefinder thats small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and carry anywhere and everywhere.
I’ve never had a rangefinder before so am really enjoying this new way of snapping, here are a few images from the first roll of film i put through it.
It was very dark in this place, these were shot at around 1/4 sec at f1.7, iso 400:

There was amazing fog today in London, wouldn’t particularly like to drive in it but great to gaze into through a window, here is a bw polaroid i snapped this afternoon:

I went to Hungary for a week a little while ago to unwind a bit and catch up with family out there, it was really nice.
I spent a few days in Budapest:

And a few days in the countryside:

There were lots of mosquitos:

I have been going through some of the stuff that I shot over the last 6 months or so, just looking at the edits with a fresh eye to see if there are any images that catch my eye that I might have missed the first time round . Here is a shot of Anna that I quite like:

A little while ago I went for a drink with Peter , Nathan and Laura . Here they all are knee deep in discussion (with Nathan doing his best ‘the thinker statue’ impression):

ps. I’ve dropped the image a few lines down so that it has room to be viewed full length without being interupted by the menu text on the right

It’s that time of year again; Glastonbury is about to kick off and I’m very jealous of everyone who’s going!
I went in 2008 and had a great time, it really is a brilliant place to be. I took my little olympus point and shoot 35mm film camera with me and snapped away for the whole 6 days I was there… got through a lot of film. Which turns out was a pretty good idea as my memory of the festival itself was pretty vacant. I remember having a great time, enjoying myself a lot, feeling free, happy and excited but I can’t remember many specifics, so getting back and processing the photos was a nice way to remind myself of all the who, what and where questions. Anyway, here are some of the snaps from those 5 days, just to give you a taster:

It’s a shame the autofocus on the camera decided to stop working for this frame (below right) as it was quite a sight: Scooby Doo and a Ghost Buster taking a piss:
